Weather looking damp and chilly tomorrow. If you’re looking for a fun indoor “competition,” Donat Aubuchon, owner of Pickleball & More in Dartmouth, has created an Intermediate/Advanced level River event noon-2pm tomorrow. Limit is 16 players. Seven signed up so far, including… yes! Fred Newton!

If you haven’t played a River before, it’s basically a ladder. Winners split and move “up the river” while losers split and go down the river. Each game is quick, 11 minutes, first to 11 or high score when time runs out wins. It’s basically 2 hours of non-stop play, so bring plenty of water!

Winners on top rung at 2pm receive $10 gift certificates and bragging rights.

Short notice! If you’re looking to get in a couple hours of fun rec open play indoors today, Pickleball & More Dartmouth just opened up 4 courts 4-6pm for Open Play All Levels. I just checked the forecast and we should beat the snow/rain. Karen and I are going for it!

Hi gang! Three items…
1st: rumor has it the Wareham YMCA Shamrock Slam indoor round robin tournament will be on a Saturday, early in April. This will be a 3.0-4.0 event. This is an elite event! Limited to first 16 competitors. Major bragging rights! Stay tuned!

2nd: Lu Brito at Wareham Y asked me to spread the word… No pickleball at the Wareham Y this coming Friday 14 Feb (it’s St. Valentine’s Day people! Spend some time with the other people you love - your pickleball widow/widower!).

3rd: no morning pickleball at Wareham Y week of 17-21 Feb. If you can’t go an entire week without dinks, drives, 3rd shot drops, ATPs, and lousy line calls, check out the fun events scheduled at Southcoast Pickleball in Fairhaven and Pickleball & More in Dartmouth! Sign up!
