This happened to me also. I went on the Y’s Full Plate Project’s Facebook page and they list the following: Gleason Family YMCA, every 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month: Feb 9 and Feb 23. So Pickleball is cancelled on those days of the month. The Y also has a poster on the wall in the gym with dates. However, there are so many cars /players for pickleball, (think of it: 16 players at a time on the courts and many waiting in the bleachers) that parking is a big issue. And the Plate Project has over 25 cars also. Anytime I go to the Y, the parking lot is full on regular days. I really don’t think the Y can accommodate everyone on these Full Plate days.

Hi Chris. I showed up too. It was explained to me that Pickleball will be every other Friday. It is a parking issue. The market place is scheduled and they are trying to avoid a line of cars out to the street. Parking lot becomes full when pickleball is on. We did not get a notice. One solution might me to allow parking on the outside basketball court past the outside courts just for pickleball parking for only that day. Not sure who to talk with.

Last Friday, a number of us showed up to play at the Y only to find out that the morning session was cancelled because of some event at the Y that required the space. None of us had heard about this in advance.
In the future, if you learn of some unusual closure that will affect this or any other of our normal venues, it would be great if you would post it on this site and save your fellow picklers a trip -- sometimes at considerable distance.
Happy New Year to all! And may this year be a great one for our common pass-time and recreation!

It's a New Year and I finally have some time to play again. Where and when would I be welcome? ;-)
